Right, let's cut through the noise and get to what matters. Iwaki are flying high, while Jubilo Iwata are looking for answers. Here's the lowdown.
Iwaki are the real deal this season. After 7 games, they've 15 points to their name with a solid 4 wins, 2 draws, and just 1 loss. Their last 10 games tell the full story: 5 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses. That's a 50% win rate, and they're averaging 1.10 goals per game while keeping things tight at the back — just 0.70 conceded per game. They've kept 5 clean sheets in 10 games. That's serious.
Most importantly, they're flying at the moment. Won their last two league games 3-1 and 1-0, both with clean sheets. They're dangerous, they're solid, and they're building momentum.
Jubilo Iwata, on the other hand, are having a right old time. After 7 games, they've only 5 points — 1 win, 3 draws, 4 losses. Their last 10 games? Just 1 win, 3 draws, 6 losses. That's a 10% win rate. They've scored 6 goals (0.60 per game) and conceded 14 (1.40 per game). Their goal difference is -8. That's not a good look.
They're also sliding — four losses in their last five league games. They got hammered 1-4 at home to Omiya Ardija, then lost 0-1 to Consadole Sapporo, and 1-2 to Azul Claro Numazu in a friendly. They've conceded 7 goals in their last three league games. The defence is a sieve.
Head-to-Head
They've met four times. Iwaki have won once, Jubilo twice, and there's been one draw. The last meeting ended 3-1 to Iwaki. Not a great record for the visitors.
The Verdict
Iwaki are in form, Jubilo aren't. Iwaki are scoring, Jubilo are leaking. Iwaki are solid at home, Jubilo are struggling away. The numbers are clear: Iwaki averaging 1.80 points per game vs Jubilo's 0.60. Iwaki's +4 goal difference vs Jubilo's -8.
The odds: Home win at 2.25, Draw 3.45, Away win 3.87. That's generous for Iwaki. They're the in-form team against a side in freefall.
My pick: Iwaki to win.
