Gday, Pajimon here. I don’t do guesswork, and I certainly don’t do vegetables. I like my bets like my braai: hot, direct, and winning. This weekend’s National League clash between Woking and Solihull Moors at Kingfield Stadium is a textbook case of home advantage meeting away misery, and the numbers are pointing straight to the hosts.
Woking sits 15th on the table with 12 points, but their home form tells the real story. In their last six home matches, they have won three and drawn three, maintaining a rock-solid 0.83 goals conceded per game while averaging 2.17 goals scored. They just came off a statement 5-2 away victory over Carlisle, proving their attack is firing on all cylinders. Solihull Moors, meanwhile, are dead last with just 4 points from 10 games. Their away record is frankly brutal: a 0.00% win rate, scoring just 1.00 goals per game while leaking 2.67 at the back. They’ve lost eight of their ten league fixtures this season, including a heavy 0-3 defeat to table-toppers Boreham Wood last weekend.
The venue heavily favors the hosts, and historical data backs it up. In the last 10 head-to-head meetings, Woking has won 4, drawn 2, and lost 4, with a 2-2-1 split specifically at home against Moors. The last meeting ended 0-0, but that was before Woking’s recent attacking surge and Solihull’s defensive freefall. Poisson goal expectancy models project Woking to score 2.42 goals while Solihull is stuck at 0.92, creating a combined expected total of 3.34 goals. That naturally pushes the Over 2.5 market to 1.70, but the cleanest value sits on the home side.
The bookmakers have Woking priced at 1.80 for the home win. When you weigh a 50% home win rate and 2.17 goals per game against a 0.00% away win rate and 2.67 goals conceded per away game, the implied 55.5% probability at 1.80 is easily beaten by the underlying data. Solihull’s 0.40 points per game away from home simply cannot withstand a Woking side that is averaging nearly two goals at home. The edge is clear, the form gap is massive, and the venue is right.
Key Points:
- Woking has won 50% of their last 6 home matches, averaging 2.17 goals scored and 0.83 conceded.
- Solihull Moors have lost 8 of 10 league games, with a dismal 0.00% away win rate and 2.67 goals conceded per away game.
- Poisson model projects a combined 3.34 goals, with Woking expected to score 2.42.
- H2H record at Kingfield Stadium favors Woking with a 2-2-1 split.
- Both teams to score is priced at 1.67, but Solihull’s defensive frailties make a home victory the primary target.
I’m locking in the Home Win at 1.80. Back the hosts, keep your beer cold, and let the data do the talking.
