Right then, let's get straight into it. FCSB are sitting pretty in fourth place with eight points from four games, and they're the only side in the top six yet to taste defeat. But don't let that tidy record fool you into thinking they're playing pretty football—they've drawn twice and won twice, and their home games are turning into proper barn-burners. At their own ground, FCSB are averaging 2.25 goals scored while letting in 2.00. That's an average of 4.25 goals per home match, and frankly, that's the sort of football I like to watch.
Opposition FC Botosani are grinding out results in 14th place, picking up just three points from four outings. They've drawn six of their last 10 games, which is a masterclass in efficiency when you're not scoring enough to win, but it also points to a side that's struggling to break teams down. Take them away from home and the story gets even clearer: they haven't won an away game in six, and they're conceding 1.83 goals per game on the road. Combine that with Botosani scoring 1.33 goals away from home, and you've got a fixture that's begging for some open play.
History between these two is no stranger to chaos. The last time they met earlier this year, it ended 3-3. In fact, four of the last five head-to-head matches have seen three or more goals. FCSB have won 80% of their home clashes against Botosani, but the visitors have shown they can nick a goal or two, as the recent 3-3 draw proved. The maths doesn't lie either: the expected goals total is sitting at a massive 3.71.
The bookies have the Over 2.5 Goals market at 1.65. It's a short price, but when you look at FCSB's home defensive frailties, Botosani's away leakiness, and the sheer number of goals both sides are pumping in, the edge is there. We're looking at a match where both teams are likely to attack, both defenses will be tested, and the net will be rippling well past the 2.5 mark. I'm not here to overcomplicate it. The graft is there, the value is there, and the goals are coming.
Key Points:
- FCSB are unbeaten in four league games and averaging 2.25 goals scored at home.
- FC Botosani are winless in six away matches and conceding 1.83 goals per game on the road.
- Last meeting ended 3-3, with four of the last five H2H fixtures seeing 3+ goals.
- Expected goals total sits at 3.71, strongly pointing to a high-scoring encounter.
- Both teams show defensive vulnerabilities, making Over 2.5 Goals the clear play.
When the final whistle blows, I expect goals. My pick is Over 2.5 Goals.
