Harrogate Town walk into this fixture with the kind of form that makes a tipster's eyes light up. Three wins in a row — 3–0 at home to AFC Hornchurch, 1–0 at Hartlepool, and 4–1 at home to Eastleigh — with eight goals scored and just one conceded across that run. In their last ten matches across all venues, Harrogate Town have won six, drawn one and lost three, averaging 1.9 points per game and scoring in every single one of those ten fixtures. Their away record over 20 games tells a similar story: 10 wins, 2 draws, 8 losses, with 1.35 goals scored per game and 1.25 conceded. This is a side that is clicking.
Woking, by contrast, have been pulling in different directions. Their last five matches produced two wins, two draws and a loss. The loss came at home against Solihull Moors, a 2–4 defeat in which Woking received a red card in the 56th minute. Before that, they had drawn 0–0 at home to Kidderminster Harriers and 1–1 away at Boston United. Yes, they've won two of those five — a 3–1 at Eastleigh and a 5–2 at Carlisle — but the home form is where it matters, and Woking's last two home games were a 0–0 and a 2–4 loss. That's not a pattern you build confidence on.
The head-to-head is a single meeting from 2019, a 1–0 Woking win at home. That's seven years of football gone by, and I'd be foolish to build a case on it. What matters is the current picture, and the current picture points firmly to Harrogate Town.
The counter-argument is that Woking do have a home record of 8 wins in 20 games, averaging 1.8 goals per game at home, and that the 5–2 away win at Carlisle two weeks ago showed they can score. But 8 wins in 20 home games also means 7 draws and 5 losses, and the last two home results have been a blank and a heavy defeat. Woking's latest 10 across all venues shows 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses — a 1.5 points-per-game output that sits well below Harrogate Town's 1.9.
Where the numbers really tell the story is in the scoring. Harrogate Town have failed to score in 0 of their last 10 games. Woking have failed to score in 3 of their last 10. Harrogate Town's away record shows 3 failed-to-score games in 20, while Woking's home record shows 6. The gap in consistency is real, and it's the kind of edge that compounds over a season.
Key Points:
- Harrogate Town have won their last 3 matches, scoring 8 and conceding 1
- Woking's last two home games were a 0–0 draw and a 2–4 loss
- Harrogate Town have scored in all 10 of their last 10 matches; Woking have failed to score in 3
- Harrogate Town's away record: 10W 2D 8L in 20 games; Woking's home record: 8W 7D 5L
- The head-to-head is a single 2019 meeting — no current-form basis
The market prices Harrogate Town's win at 2.67, implying a 37.45% chance. My read on the form, the away record and Woking's home inconsistency puts Harrogate Town's probability closer to 45%. That's value at 2.67, and that's the one I'm taking.
Verdict: Harrogate Town away win.
