Listen up, let's get straight to the meat of this one. We're looking at Start vs Brann in the Eliteserien, and honestly, the contrast between these two sides is as clear as a cold beer on a hot day. Start is currently languishing at the bottom of the table, looking like a side that’s been served a plate of nothing but boiled grass. They've only managed 3 wins in their last 10 games and are struggling to find any rhythm, conceding a staggering 2.00 goals per game on average.
On the other side, we've got Brann. These guys are the real feast. They're sitting in 7th place and have shown much more consistency and clinical finishing. They’ve managed 6 wins in their last 10 games and have been particularly difficult to beat on the road, remaining undefeated in their last four away trips. They average 2.00 goals scored per game while keeping their defense relatively tight, conceding just 1.00 goal on average. It's a massive difference in class.
The head-to-head record is perhaps the most telling statistic here. In 9 meetings between these two, Brann has dominated completely with 7 wins and 2 draws. Start hasn't managed to secure a single victory against them in that entire span. When you combine Brann's superior goal expectancy (1.88) against Start's leaky defense, the outcome feels like a foregone conclusion.
While the Over 2.5 goals market looks tempting given Start's defensive woes, the current odds don't offer enough of an edge to justify the risk. We want that juicy return, and the most solid play here is to back the quality of Brann to overwhelm a bottom-tier Start side. They are the much better team, and the numbers back them up to take all three points.
Key Points:
