A battle at the bottom, this is. Nineteenth meets twenty-second in League Two. Two ships taking on water, both are. Barrow, at home, yet winless in their last four at their own ground. Zero wins, zero draws, four defeats. Only 0.5 goals per game at home they score, but 2.25 they concede. Troubling, that is.
Crawley Town, away, even worse. Five away matches, five defeats. Zero points from a possible fifteen. 1.0 goal per game they score away, but 2.6 they concede. A road of sorrow, they travel.
Look at the recent results, we must. Barrow's only victory in ten came away at Tranmere, a 3-1 scoreline. At home, defeats to Salford City, Cheltenham, Tranmere, and Cambridge United. Clean sheets? None in ten games for Barrow. Crawley's record? No wins in ten. Draws with Colchester, Oldham, and Accrington ST. Losses to many, including Bromley twice. Clean sheets? Also none in ten games.
When these two meet, history favours the home side. At Barrow's ground, three wins and one loss from four encounters. The last meeting this season, a 2-1 Barrow victory. A psychological edge, this may provide.
Yet, the data speaks loudly. Both teams to score in 80% of their last ten matches, they have. Defensive solidity, a foreign concept it is. Barrow averages 2.1 goals conceded per game overall. Crawley averages 2.2. The goal expectancies whisper of over 3.0 goals. A high-scoring affair, the stars align for.
Wise, to look beyond the win/loss column. Two fragile defences, meeting. A chance for redemption, or further despair? Often in such matches, the net bulges at both ends.
Key Points:
Barrow: 0 wins in last 4 home games (0% win rate).
Crawley Town: 0 wins in last 5 away games (0% win rate).
Both teams: 0 clean sheets in their last 10 matches.
Both Teams to Score occurred in 80% of both teams' last 10 games.
Head-to-head at Barrow: Barrow have won 3 of the last 4 meetings.
Recent Form: Barrow (1W, 3D, 6L); Crawley Town (0W, 3D, 7L).
In the end, a single result likely, this is not. Goals at both ends, the path of least resistance appears. Back both teams to find the net, I must.
