The force, you see, flows through the goals. And in this fixture, it flows both ways.
Virtus Entella, at their ground, have failed to score in just 2 of their last 20 home games. Their visitors, Juve Stabia, have gone scoreless in only 4 of their last 20 away outings. Two teams that both find the net, meet on a pitch where both will find it again. The numbers whisper this truth, and they whisper loudly. You must listen, yes?
At home, Virtus Entella average 1.4 goals per game and concede 1.05. Away, Juve Stabia average 1.05 goals per game and concede 1.45. In their last 10 games, both sides have seen both teams score in 6 and 7 matches respectively. The head-to-head, though limited to one recent meeting at Juve Stabia's ground in January, tells a story of 3 draws and 2 wins — one for each side — across 5 meetings, with both teams finding the net in 3 of those 5. The older meetings at Virtus Entella's ground — a 1-1 and a 2-0 — remind us that goals have been scored at this venue before, even if the recent record is thin.
The counter-argument, however, is not without force. Juve Stabia have drawn their last three games — 1-1 with Cesena at home, 1-1 at Vicenza, and the 3-3 friendly at Lazio. In that stretch, they conceded 5. And Virtus Entella's own recent form is patchy: a 0-0 at Cremonese on 19 September, a 2-2 at home to Vicenza, and losses to Cesena and Sudtirol. The 0-0 at Cremonese reminds us that even a team that scores 18 times in 20 home games can go quiet. A moment of silence, you see. It happens to the best of us.
Yet the structural record is hard to ignore. In 20 home games, Virtus Entella have scored in 18. In 20 away games, Juve Stabia have scored in 16. The overlap is vast. Both teams concede regularly at their respective grounds — 1.05 and 1.45 per game. The market prices both teams to score at 1.91, implying a 52.36% chance. I see the evidence pointing to a higher likelihood, closer to 60%, given the consistency of scoring at both ends. The force is strong, but it must be felt, not just seen.
Key Points:
- Virtus Entella have scored in 18 of their last 20 home games; Juve Stabia in 16 of their last 20 away
- Both teams' last 10 games show BTTS yes in 6 and 7 matches respectively
- Juve Stabia have drawn their last three games, conceding 5 in that stretch
- The head-to-head across 5 meetings has seen both teams score in 3 of 5
- Virtus Entella's home record: 9W 6D 5L; Juve Stabia's away record: 5W 8D 7L
The force flows both ways in this one. I recommend both teams to score.
