There's something quietly thrilling about finding value where the market isn't looking, and the Superettan clash at IK brage's ground offers just that. The bookmakers have IK brage as the slight favourite at 2.33, but the football tells a very different story, and I'm here to back the little puppy that's been overlooked.
Let's start with the most telling evidence. IK brage have not won a single game in their last five matches — three draws and two losses, including a 0–1 defeat to GIF Sundsvall at home on 5 September and a 2–3 loss to Varbergs BoIS on 19 September. Across their last ten games, the record is 0 wins, 4 draws and 6 losses, with just 0.4 points per game. That is a team that is struggling to find a winning formula, and it shows clearly in the numbers.
Helsingborg, by contrast, have at least kept their heads above water. Their last five games produced 1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses, and across the last ten they've managed 2 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses for 0.9 points per game. More importantly, they beat Landskrona 2–1 on the road on 9 September, showing they can still find a way to win away from home even when the form is patchy.
The head-to-head adds real weight to the underdog case. In the last 11 meetings between these two sides, Helsingborg have won 6, drawn 3 and lost just 2. The most recent meeting on 3 May 2026 at Helsingborg's ground ended 2–0 to Helsingborg, and the one before that at IK brage's ground on 25 October 2025 went 3–2 to IK brage. So at this specific venue, the last meeting was a narrow IK brage win, but the broader picture is firmly in Helsingborg's favour.
Now, the counter-argument is real and I won't hide it. Helsingborg's away record over 20 games is 7 wins, 2 draws and 11 losses, and they conceded 2.15 per game on the road. Their last away outing was a 0–1 loss to Ostersunds on 14 September. IK brage at home, meanwhile, have scored 1.8 goals per game across 20 home fixtures and have a 7-win record on their own patch. The home crowd will be hoping for another 3–2 type performance like the one they pulled off in October 2025.
But here's what tips the balance for me: the gap in recent form is significant. IK brage have zero wins in their last ten, while Helsingborg have two. The head-to-head dominance (6 wins from 11) suggests Helsingborg know how to handle this particular opponent, and the fact that they've won the most recent meeting gives them psychological comfort. Helsingborg's away record is poor, yes, but it's not as dire as IK brage's current winless stretch suggests.
Key Points:
- IK brage have 0 wins in their last 10 games (0W 4D 6L), with just 0.4 points per game
- Helsingborg have won 6 of the last 11 head-to-head meetings, including the most recent 2–0 on 3 May 2026
- Helsingborg's last 10 games: 2W 3D 5L, with a 2–1 away win at Landskrona on 9 September
- Helsingborg's away record is 7W 2D 11L in 20 games, conceding 2.15 per game on the road
- IK brage's home record: 7W 6D 7L in 20 games, scoring 1.8 per game
My verdict: I'm backing Helsingborg to take the away win at 2.75. The market has them as the underdog, the form gap is clear, and the head-to-head says they know how to beat this side. The little puppy wins this one. 🐾
