There's a little underdog story tucked into these numbers, and I can't help but root for it. Kalmar FF have gone five consecutive matches without scoring a single goal. The 0–0 draw at Norrkoping on 6 October, the 0–5 defeat to Hacken on 20 September, the 0–1 losses to Elfsborg on 13 September, Djurgarden on 7 September, and Halmstad on 29 August — five games, zero goals. Across their last 10 matches, Kalmar have failed to score in 7 of them, and over 20 away games their record shows 10 matches without a goal. That is a long, quiet stretch for any side, and it tells you something real about where this team is right now.
Malmo FF, hosting at their own ground, arrive with a 3–0 friendly win over Nordsjaelland on 3 October and a 4–1 victory over Orgryte on 13 September. Their home record over 20 games is 10 wins, 2 draws and 8 losses, with 1.8 goals scored per game. In their last 10 matches across all venues, Malmo have won 6, drawn 1 and lost 3, averaging 1.7 goals a game. They are in a good rhythm at home, and the 0–0 draw against AIK on 7 September — where Malmo's xG was 1.32 — suggests the creative engine is still there even when the finish doesn't come.
The head-to-head at this venue is thin on recent evidence. The only meeting within the last 12 months was a 2–2 draw at Kalmar's ground on 20 July. The older meetings at Malmo's ground — a 5–0 and a 1–0, both Malmo wins — are historical and don't really tell us what to expect from the current shape of these two sides. I'll lean on the form rather than the archive.
The counter-argument is fair enough. Malmo's home record shows 11 of 20 games where both teams scored, and their last 10 matches include 4 BTTS-yes results. The 2–2 draw in July also suggests Kalmar can find a way into a game. But the weight of Kalmar's scoring drought — five straight scoreless games, seven of ten, ten of twenty away — is hard to ignore. A side that has not found the net in five consecutive matches is not about to suddenly unlock a rhythm in an away fixture, and the market's 47.62% view on both teams not to score feels a touch generous given what Kalmar's last five games actually show.
Key Points:
- Kalmar FF have scored zero goals in their last 5 matches (0–0, 0–5, 0–1, 0–1, 0–1)
- Kalmar's away record: 10 of 20 games without scoring, 14 of 20 BTTS-no
- Malmo FF home: 10W 2D 8L over 20 games, 1.8 goals per game
- Recent H2H: 2–2 draw at Kalmar's ground on 20 July 2026
- Kalmar's last 10: 1W 3D 6L, 7 of 10 without scoring
I'm backing both teams not to score.
