Listen up, boys! We’ve got a massive clash in the Premiership this weekend, and if you're looking for some proper meat on the bone, this is it. Celtic are absolutely on fire right now, sitting pretty at the top of the table with a perfect 5-0 record. They aren't just winning; they are putting on a clinical show, averaging a massive 2.40 goals per game. When they hit the road, they become even more dangerous, averaging a whopping 3.00 goals per game away from home. They are the real deal, the prime steak on the BBQ of Scottish football.
ST Johnstone are trying to hold their own at home, and they’ve got a decent record there, winning 75% of their last four home fixtures. They managed a 2-1 win against Hibernian recently, showing they can find the back of the net. But let’s be real—facing Celtic is a different beast entirely. The head-to-head history is basically a slaughterhouse for Johnstone. They’ve only won once in 10 meetings, and the most recent scoreline was a 5-0 demolition. They simply don't have the firepower to keep up with Celtic's relentless attacking machine.
The stats tell the story. We’re looking at a goal expectancy of over 4 goals for this match. Celtic’s attacking prowess combined with Johnstone’s ability to find the net at home suggests this isn't going to be a cagey affair. We want to see goals, we want to see action, and we want to see Celtic's offense running wild. With the history of high-scoring games between these two—where 8 out of 10 matches have seen Over 2.5 goals—there is plenty of value to be had.
Celtic are the clear favorites to take all three points, but for the best bang for your buck, we’re looking at the goal count. This is going to be a feast, not a salad! Grab a beer and get ready for a goal fest.
