This matchup presents a stark contrast in form and league position between two teams heading in opposite directions. SV Kapfenberg sits 12th in the 2. Liga with just 14 points from 15 games, while Floridsdorfer AC occupies 3rd place with 28 points - double Kapfenberg's tally.
The recent form gap is even more alarming for the home side. Kapfenberg has managed only one win in their last 10 matches, collecting a mere 0.60 points per game. Their defensive record is particularly concerning, having conceded 23 goals in that span (2.30 per game) with zero clean sheets. Recent results include heavy defeats like the 6-1 loss to Admira Wacker and the 5-2 defeat against FC Liefering, exposing their defensive vulnerabilities.
In stark contrast, Floridsdorfer AC has been excellent with 5 wins, 4 draws, and just 1 loss in their last 10 games. Their defensive solidity stands out - they've kept 5 clean sheets and conceded only 5 goals (0.50 per game). Their away form is especially impressive, remaining unbeaten in their last 5 away matches with 2 wins and 3 draws, while conceding just 0.20 goals per game on the road.
Floridsdorfer's recent performances against quality opposition further strengthen their case. They've secured notable victories including a 2-0 away win against league leaders SKN ST. Polten and a 2-1 home victory over Austria Vienna (Am). They also held second-placed Admira Wacker to a 1-1 draw.
The head-to-head record slightly favors Floridsdorfer with 3 wins to Kapfenberg's 1, though draws have been common (5). However, the most recent meeting ended in a 2-0 victory for Floridsdorfer, and given their current form versus Kapfenberg's struggles, another away win looks highly probable.
Kapfenberg's home form offers little hope - they've won only 20% of their home games this season and have been particularly poor recently, failing to win any of their last 5 home matches (1 win, 2 draws, 2 losses in their last 5 home games overall).
