Kataller Toyama vs Ehime FC Prediction

Basement Battle: Who'll Blink First?

Preview

Right then, let's have a proper look at this one. It's the battle of the basement boys in the J2 League - 19th vs 20th, the wooden spoon special! Kataller Toyama welcome Ehime FC in what's basically a 'who's less rubbish' contest.

Now, Kataller's home form has been absolutely shocking, mate. We're talking zero wins in their last 10 home games. They've been leaking goals like a sieve too - 2 per game at home on average. Their recent results don't make for pretty reading: a 1-0 loss to Renofa Yamaguchi, getting battered 0-2 by Consadole Sapporo, and a 1-3 thumping from Tokushima Vortis. They did manage a sneaky 1-0 win away at Fujieda MYFC, but that's their only win in 10 games.

Ehime, bless 'em, are having an even worse time of it. Rock bottom of the league with just 20 points from 34 games. But here's the interesting bit - they actually score more away from home (1.75 per game) than they do at their own gaff (0.50). They managed a decent 3-0 win at Oita Trinita recently, but apart from that, it's been mostly misery. They've been shipping goals for fun though - 2.25 per game on their travels.

Historically, Kataller has had the wood over Ehime, especially at home where they've won 3 out of 4 meetings. But form, as they say, is temporary while class is permanent - and neither side has much class on show this season!

Both teams are defensively shambolic, and Ehime have shown they can find the net on the road. With both backlines looking about as solid as a chocolate teapot, I'm expecting both teams to get on the scoresheet here.
