Pajimon here, mate, and I'm cracking open a cold one for this one. Livyi Bereh host Zorya Luhansk on 12 October in the Premier League, and it's a proper tug-of-war between a home side that's been rock solid at their ground and an away side that's got the sharper edge in the numbers.
Let's start with the home side. Livyi Bereh have been absolute bangers at home over the last 20 games — 11 wins, 7 draws, just 2 losses. That's 2 points per game, and they've kept clean sheets in 9 of those 20. They score 1.8 a game at home and concede just 0.7. That's a tight, controlled environment. Their last five games though have been a bit flat: one win (a 2–0 away at Epitsentr Dunayivtsi on 19 September), three draws and a loss. They've scored 4 and conceded 3 in that stretch, and every single one of those five went under 2.5 goals. So the home record is strong, but the recent form is more of a grind.
Now Zorya Luhansk. Their last five have been rough — a 0–2 loss to Dynamo Kyiv at home on 19 September, a 0–3 loss to FC Kharkiv at home on 31 August, and a 2–0 win away at Yarud Mariupol' in the Cup. One win, two draws, two losses. They've scored 4 and conceded 7 in that stretch. But look at the wider away picture: over 20 away games, they've managed 7 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses, scoring 1.95 a game and conceding 1.65. That's a side that scores on the road, and 17 of those 20 away games saw both teams find the net.
The head-to-head here is dated — no meetings within the last 12 months. The two older fixtures both went to Zorya: a 2–1 at their ground in April 2025 and a 2–0 at Livyi Bereh's ground in October 2024. So historically, Zorya have had the edge, but that's 17 and 23 months ago. I'm not building my case on that.
The matchup table tells the real story. Livyi Bereh at home: 2 points per game, 1.8 scored, 0.7 conceded. Zorya away: 1.35 points per game, 1.95 scored, 1.65 conceded. Livyi Bereh's home defence is the standout — 0.7 conceded per game versus Zorya's 1.65. But Zorya's away attack is the sharper one, and the scoring at Zorya's away games has been higher (15 of 20 over 2.5) compared to Livyi Bereh's home games (10 of 20 over 2.5).
The counter-argument is clear: Livyi Bereh's home record is genuinely strong, and their recent games have been low-scoring and controlled. Zorya's last five have been poor, and they've lost both of their last two home games. If Livyi Bereh hold firm at home, this could be a tight, low-scoring affair.
But the weight of evidence — the away scoring record, the historical head-to-head, the overall edge in the numbers — tilts this towards Zorya. The market prices them at 2.59, which is a 38.61% implied probability. My own read puts Zorya winning at around 41%, which is a slight edge over the market's view.
Key Points:
- Livyi Bereh's home record is strong: 11W 7D 2L in 20 games, 0.7 conceded per game
- Zorya's away record: 7W 6D 7L in 20 games, 1.95 scored per game
- No head-to-head meetings in the last 12 months; both older fixtures went to Zorya
- Livyi Bereh's last 5 games all finished under 2.5 goals
- Zorya's away games have seen both teams score in 17 of 20
Verdict: I'm going with the Zorya Luhansk away win.
