Right, so we've got Osters IF hosting Oddevold on 17 October in the Superettan, and if I'm being honest, this one's got a bit of a one-sided feel to it when you look at where both sides are at right now.
Let's start with the visitors. Oddevold have been proper solid of late. Three wins, a draw and a loss in their last five, and if you stretch that back to ten games they've got five wins, three draws and just two losses. Their away record over the last 20 trips tells the real story: eight wins, seven draws, five losses, and they've kept eight clean sheets in that stretch. They're scoring 1.7 a game on the road and conceding just 1.3. That's a team that goes out there, parks the bus when it needs to, and still finds a way to nick one. Their last outing was a 2–0 at home to United Nordic, and before that they got a 0–0 draw away at IFK Norrkoping. Not flashy, but effective.
Now Osters IF. Look, I'm not saying they're a bad side, but the last three games have been a bit of a nightmare. Lost 0–2 at Norrby, lost 2–3 at Halmstad, lost 1–3 at home to IFK Norrkoping. Three straight defeats, eight goals conceded, and they've only managed three of their own. Their home record over 20 games is eight wins, two draws, ten losses – that's a 1.3 points per game, which is decent but it's not exactly racking up the points. They do score 1.45 a game at home, so they're not sitting on their hands, but the defence is leaking a bit at 1.7 conceded per game.
The head-to-head is a bit of a mixed bag. The only meeting in the last 12 months was back in April at Oddevold's ground, and Osters IF won 2–1 on the road. At Osters IF's ground, the last time these two met was way back in 2024 – a 3–0 win for the hosts. But that's two years ago, and the older meetings stretch back to 2016, so I wouldn't put too much weight on that. What I will say is that Oddevold haven't won at this ground in the recent meetings, which gives Osters IF a little bit of a psychological edge.
The counter-argument for Osters IF is that they do have a history of beating Oddevold here, and their home attack is decent enough to find a goal. They've scored in 17 of their last 20 home games, so they're not going to sit there and not get on the scoresheet. But the form gap is hard to ignore. Oddevold are coming in with momentum, a tight back line, and a record that says they travel well. Osters IF are in a bit of a rut and the defence is struggling.
Key Points:
- Oddevold have won 3 of their last 5 and 5 of their last 10, with 8 clean sheets in 20 away games
- Osters IF have lost their last 3, conceding 8 goals in that stretch
- Oddevold's away record: 8W 7D 5L, 1.55 points per game, 1.3 conceded per game
- Osters IF's home record: 8W 2D 10L, 1.3 points per game, 1.7 conceded per game
- The only recent head-to-head meeting (April 2026) was an Osters IF 2–1 win away
My call: Oddevold are the ones to back here. The form, the away record, the defensive solidity – it all points the same way. I'd rate the chance of an Oddevold win at around 48%, which sits above the market's 44.44% implied at 2.25. That's a small but real edge, and the football backs it up. Go with the away win.
