Paris Saint Germain are rolling into this one on a four-game winning streak, and the numbers don't lie. Twelve goals scored, three conceded across those four. They beat Le Mans 3–1 at home on 10 October, took Marseille 2–1 on the road on 20 September, and picked up a 1–0 away at Stade Brestois 29 on 13 September. Before that, a 6–1 Champions League hammering of Slovan Bratislava on 9 September. The only blemish was a 1–2 loss to Monaco at home on 4 September, and that was six weeks ago.
Their away record over the last 20 games is the real story here. Twelve wins, three draws, five losses. Nine clean sheets. Just 20 goals conceded in 20 away fixtures. That's a side that travels well and keeps it tight on the road.
Strasbourg, meanwhile, have lost their last two. The 2–1 defeat at Nice on 11 October and the 1–2 loss at Paris FC on 19 September have left them sitting on 0.8 points per game over their last 10, with 24 goals conceded in that stretch. They did grab a 6–2 win at Estac Troyes on 6 September and a 2–1 home win over Lens on 29 August, but the last two results have been a bit of a reality check.
Now, the head-to-head. At this ground in the last 12 months, PSG won 2–1 back in February. The reverse fixture at PSG's ground was a 3–3 draw in October 2025. Both recent meetings produced goals for both sides. Over the longer run — and I'll be upfront, most of those 19 meetings stretch back years and are historical rather than current form — both teams have scored in 15 of 19. That's a fixture that tends to open up.
The counter-argument, and I'll give it fair play: Strasbourg are not without a home base. Over 20 home games they've won 9, drawn 4, lost 7, and scored 1.65 per game. They drew 1–1 with Monaco at home on 12 September and beat Lens 2–1 on 29 August. The reverse fixture was a 3–3 draw, which shows they can compete with the big boys. And PSG's away BTTS record over 20 games is 9 yes to 11 no, so the visitors don't always find the net.
But here's what tips it for me: both teams have scored in every one of their last five matches. Strasbourg have found the net in all five, and PSG have done the same. Four of PSG's last five saw both sides score. The xG numbers back it up — PSG are averaging 2.51 xG for per game, and Strasbourg are averaging 2.24 xG against. That's a lot of chances coming at the home side's back line.
Key Points:
- PSG have won their last four, scoring 12 and conceding 3
- Strasbourg have lost their last two and conceded 24 in their last 10
- Both teams have scored in all of their last five matches
- The two recent H2H meetings produced 3 and 6 goals respectively
- PSG's away record: 12W 3D 5L, 9 clean sheets in 20 games
My pick: both teams to score.
