Howzit my bru! It's almost March and the weather's still lekker for a braai, but forget the salad - we're here for the goals! Kryvbas KR host Zorya Luhansk in the Ukrainian Premier League this Sunday, and if the stats are anything to go by, we might need extra beers to wash down all the action.
Kryvbas are sitting pretty in 5th place with 27 points, but eish, these guys have been drawing games like they're collecting stamps. Seven draws in their last ten matches - including four 2-2 scorelines and a couple of 0-0s against Metalist and Odense. It's like they forgot how to kill off a game! At home though, they're solid if unspectacular - scoring 2.25 goals per game but drawing 75% of the time. They haven't lost at home in their last four, but they've only won one of those. Still, they did manage a cracking 3-0 win against Oleksandria and held Shakhtar Donetsk to a 2-2 draw, so the quality is there.
Now, Zorya Luhansk roll into town in 8th spot, and let me tell you, their away form is about as solid as a pap en vleis without the vleis. They've lost 50% of their away games, but here's the kicker - they're scoring 2 goals per game on the road while conceding exactly the same amount. It's like watching a tennis match! Their recent 2-2 draw against Kudrivka and that 5-1 friendly demolition of Rapid Wien II shows they can find the net, but keeping it out? That's a different story. They've conceded in 9 of their last 10 games.
The head-to-head record is where Kryvbas fans will be smiling - unbeaten in 7 meetings against Zorya (5 wins, 2 draws), including a 3-2 thriller back in August. Five of those seven games went over 2.5 goals, and both teams scored in four of them. With goal expectancies sitting at 2.12 for the home side and 1.75 for the visitors, we're looking at nearly 4 goals expected in this match!
**Key Points:**
• Kryvbas have drawn 7 of their last 10 games but score 2.25 goals per game at home
• Zorya concede 2 goals per game away from home and have 0% clean sheet rate on the road
• Head-to-head history shows Kryvbas unbeaten (5-2-0) with high-scoring affairs (5/7 went over 2.5)
• Both teams have been involved in goal-fests recently (Kryvbas 3-3 vs Daejeon, Zorya 3-3 vs Lokomotiv Sofia)
• Goal expectancies suggest 3.87 total goals expected in this fixture
**Summary:**
With defences leakier than a cheap cooler box and attacks firing at over 2 goals per game each, this has BTTS written all over it. At 1.80, both teams to score is the value play - it's like getting boerewors at supermarket prices. These two don't do clean sheets, and with Kryvbas needing to turn draws into wins and Zorya desperate for away points, we should see net-bulging action. Grab your dop and enjoy the show!
