Right then, let's fire up the braai and get stuck into this one! Celtic might be sitting pretty in 2nd place, but their recent form has been more inconsistent than my mate's braai timing. They've only won 4 of their last 10 games and just got hammered 3-1 by Hearts - not exactly championship-winning stuff, is it?
Looking at the numbers, Celtic are averaging 1.3 goals scored but also conceding 1.2 per game. Their home record isn't exactly fortress-like either - just a 50% win rate at their own patch. They've kept clean sheets in only 30% of their recent matches, which tells me their defense has more holes than a golf course.
Now Falkirk, sitting in 6th, have actually been showing some proper fighting spirit lately. Back-to-back wins against Dundee (2-1) and Motherwell (1-2) shows they're not here just to make up the numbers. The key stat for me is that they score in 80% of their games - they're always likely to find the net. Their away defense is absolutely shocking though - 2.2 goals conceded per game on the road!
The head-to-head tells a clear story - Celtic have won all 3 meetings, but here's the juicy bit: every single one of those games had over 2.5 goals. The last meeting was a 4-1 Celtic win back in August.
With Celtic's defensive wobbles and Falkirk's tendency to both score and concede, I'm seeing real value in both teams getting on the scoresheet. Celtic should win, but at 1.17 they're offering less excitement than watching paint dry. The Both Teams To Score market at 1.95 looks much tastier - like a perfectly grilled boerewors!
