Gor Mahia came together on 17 February 1968 when Luo Union and Luo Sports Club merged, and the new side took the title straight away. By 1976 they had won the league unbeaten, the first Kenyan club to do it, and Frank Nuttall's side matched that 39 years later. In between came a thirteen-year wait for silverware, ended by the KFF Cup in 2008. Then 2013 delivered the club's first league title in 18 years, with Bobby Williamson in the dugout and Jerim Onyango in goal.
