F1 2026 title run-in: seven races left and a Mercedes out in front
Back in March, nobody had a clue what Formula 1's new rules would throw up. New power units, active aerodynamics, Audi turning up as a works team and Cadillac rolling out as the 11th outfit on the grid. The reset was meant to scramble the order. It did, and Mercedes landed on top.
Sixteen races in, Kimi Antonelli leads the drivers' championship on 320 points, 84 clear of his team-mate George Russell. Mercedes are 151 points clear in the constructors'. Lando Norris and McLaren, the reigning champions, have spent the year staring at silver gearboxes.
The Singapore weekend is under way and seven rounds remain, from Marina Bay to Abu Dhabi. The outright F1 title market prices Antonelli as a near-certainty, but the betting is far from finished. We've worked through the title maths, the earliest dates the crown could be settled and the full run-in calendar, and we'll show you where we'd hunt for value instead of backing the favourite at long odds-on.
