Acca boosts look generous because the percentages climb so fast. The snag is that the margin climbs faster. Every leg carries its own cut, and those cuts multiply.
William Hill's Football Acca Boost makes a good test case because its ladder is so wide. The current terms run from 12:00 UK time on Tuesday 26 May 2026 to 23:59 on Sunday 30 May 2027. Every leg needs odds of 1/5 (1.20) or bigger on 90 Minutes, 90 Minutes 2 Up, BTTS or Over/Under goals, and the boost is paid on winnings, capped at £10,000 per bet online and £2,000 in shops. Here's how its percentages stack up in a simple model where every leg is a true 50% chance priced at 1.90 (illustrative):

Model: 1.90 per leg, fair price 2.00, boost applied to winnings only.
A treble with a 4% boost is still about 11% the wrong side of fair. It would need roughly a 19.5% boost just to break even, and a 10-fold would need about 67%. The numbers only drift towards neutral at lengths where, in this model, you win once in 32,768 tries (15 legs) or once in 1,048,576 (20 legs). That "+7.5%" is a quirk of the model. It isn't a strategy.
How bet365's ladder compares
bet365's 100% Acca Boost (terms as read on 30 October 2026) is for new and eligible customers. It runs from 2.5% on doubles and 5% on trebles up to 100% on 20-folds, with the extra winnings paid as withdrawable cash, a £100,000 maximum boost, and no boost on bets placed with Bet Credits. Against William Hill it's a touch meaner on doubles, kinder from trebles to 6-folds, level from 7 to 14 legs and well behind from 15 legs up. Either way, the boost softens the margin rather than beating it. Our football accumulator guide covers how to build accas that hold up.
